Presentation abstract: In this session we will explore all of the ideas and issues related to database passwords and their security. We will include a look at the current algorithms and how they work and also their strengths and weaknesses of each.

We will also look at how to enable the strongest algorithms without hanging onto the weakest and why that is an issue. The talk then goes on to discuss designing strong passwords and implementing rules (profiles) to enforce those.

The presentation will include demonstrations and finally a discussion on password safe software that is available
